Christi J. Holmes is the Director of Educational Outreach and Grant Coordinator with the Connecticut State Medical Society. Christi received her BS at Wheelock College with studies in human development and child studies. She served as the Executive Director of the Health Assistance Intervention Education Network of Connecticut (HAVEN), a 501c(3), an organization that provides confidential consultation and support to healthcare professionals facing health concerns related to alcoholism, substance abuse, behavioral or mental health issues and/or physical illness. She is the Director of the Physician’s Perception on Healthcare Disparities, a Connecticut Health Foundation funded grant focusing on the physicians’ role in eliminating racial and ethnic healthcare disparities. Her current work focuses on presentations, education and outreach to physicians and their practice mangers in examining strategies for reducing disparities in healthcare.
Christi is a Connecticut Health Foundation Health Leadership Fellow, focusing on increasing the leadership knowledge and skills to better advocate and lead effective health strategies that will improve the health and well-being of those vulnerable to racial and ethnic health disparities. She also serves as a member of the Commission to End Health Disparities, the Connecticut Multicultural Health Partnership, the Multicultural Leadership Institute’s Advisory Board, and the Child Life Council.
