Steven King

Steven is currently a student of the 2011 Executive MBA Class at the University of Connecticut and earned his BS in Marketing from The Pennsylvania State University in 1995. In 2004 he became a member of the Hobson Associates Technology Practice, recruiting top Sales and Marketing talent for clients in the Software and Hi-Tech Services industries. Steven, a Senior Associate, focuses on recruiting talent for the Legal Technology and Diversity marketplace, where he continues to help build and grow successful Executive, technical and sales teams across the country.

Professionally, Steven brings with him a track record of 15 years of successful sales and management experience, prior to joining Hobson. Previous job responsibilities included several years with JCPenney as a Merchandise Manager, and with Enterprise Rent-A-Car as a Branch Manager and Senior Car Sales Executive. Personally, Steven hails from Philadelphia, PA and is the oldest of seven children. He is blessed to be married to Dr. Evelyn Simien who is an Associate Professor at the University of Connecticut, and in January 2010 they became the proud parents of a son, Roman Marcellus. They both are members of St. John’s Congregational Church, in Springfield, MA, where Steven is a singer with the 5 man gospel group – Intercession.

His community service efforts include, his current elected position as President/District Director of ONECA (Organization of the New England Chapters of Alpha), which covers 5 states; as well as his previous position as the 22nd President of the BSL Chapter, both of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., which services the greater Hartford, CT community. In that position, he spearheaded the Step Into Wellness & Health Expo: Hartford Step-Off Classic, which focuses on promoting health and fitness among Hartford families and youth – specifically around the issue of obesity (www.hartfordsetpoff.com).
