Welcome to Health Justice CT! We’re so happy that you’re here. Health Justice CT is designed to spark an ongoing conversation about the critical issues related to racial and ethnic health disparities. We’re here to ask the tough questions, connect the dots, build partnerships, and highlight innovative solutions for community change. We want to hear from you and hear about what you’re thinking and doing. Please comment on our posts and and tell us what you’re doing to address health disparities in the community.
To get you started, we want to highlight some features on our newly designed site.
- Our Contributors: We’ve launched a weekly editorial series that highlights diverse opinions and perspectives on race, ethnicity and health disparities. Our contributors are veteran health leaders in Connecticut, and what they create will be wide-ranging and the perspectives will be diverse. Our goal is to have this critical issue discussed from all angles—policy, root causes, community best practices, bio-medical, social and civil justice. Click here to meet them.
- News Updates: We’re want to be a source of news and commentary on this issue and have created several ways to do so. On the sidebar, you’ll see information for the most recent news highlights, on the top bar, marked “news” is a list of news articles sorted by month. And finally, on a weekly basis we’ll provide a round-up of the latest health news and reports from the past week. Sound, good?
- More social sharing: Thanks to our friends at Waylay Design, we’re got this site equipped with all the social sharing you can want. You can tweet, like-us on Facebook, connect via LinkedIN and share with your inner or outer circles on Google+. These buttons are found on every posts and are simple to use and share with your network. We hope you’ll use those share features frequently to help us spread the word.
- Community Calendar: This space lists upcoming events, trainings, festivities and forums. You can sort the events by type. Feel free to email us if you have an event or activity you would like to share.
Won’t you give us a look and listen– and join the movement?
