Yvette Bello is the Executive Director of Latino Community Services, Inc. As executive director she is focused on identifying health disparities, designing, and implementing quality programs to address the needs of Latinos and other disproportionately affected minority groups in Connecticut. Ms. Bello holds many leadership positions in the community. She serves on the Governor’s Cabinet on Nonprofit Health and Human Services, the Medical Interpreting Association of Connecticut board, The Ryan White Planning Council, the Governor’s Taskforce on Teen Driving and the Hartford-Mayor’s Commission on HIV/AIDS and a board member of the Connecticut Associations for Nonprofits board where she actively supports the collective power of nonprofits to address the most pressing social issues in Connecticut. She is a 2007 Health Leadership Fellow with the Connecticut Health Foundation Leadership Program and was recently named one of Hartford Business Journal’s Five Newsmakers to Watch in 2011. In 2010, she was recognized as “Identidad Latina’s-Latino de Oro’ in the category of health. Ms. Bello holds a master degree in Business Administration from Albertus College and served a total of eight years with the Connecticut Army National Guard, 141st Medical Company in New Britain.
